Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Marina have a boat ramp?

There is a boat ramp located 2.5 miles from our facility for easy launching and delivery to our Marina.

Does your Marina store trailers?

We do not. There are several storage sites located conveniently nearby. They range in price from $35 per month to $50. A list is available upon your arrival.

Do you allow live aboards?

Yes! We love our live aboards! They become Marina family. An additional live aboard charge  is added to the dockage fee.

How protected are you during hurricanes?

We are fortunate to be located on the northern portion of Mobile Bay. Our protected marina harbor does not receive much weather fetch. Boats here have weathered hurricanes Ivan and Katrina while moored in our Marina and few sustained more than minimal damage; however, with Mother Nature there are no guarantees. Boaters assume all liability for their vessels.

What is your hurricane procedure for your wet slip boats?

Each year, prior to hurricane season, we send our wet slip boaters a Hurricane Preparedness Plan, which we request you to complete and submit to us along with emergency contacts and your plan for handling the boat in bad weather. If you, the boat owner, are unavailable to batten down your hatches, you must hire the marina to prep your boat for the storm. Storm preparation includes securing all sails, removing biminis, and removing other non-sail canvas. We secure your roller furling sails against unfurling and wrap your booms securely. We clear your decks of all stored items and secure and harness your boat lines as safely as possible to ride the out storm. We keep on-site staff at the Marina and walk the harbor for as long as a storm will allow and check boat conditions as soon as the storm abates.

What about hurricane procedures for the Dry Storage boats stored on outside racks?

Our preparedness starts when we are within the “Cone of Uncertainty”. This is normally three to four days prior to the approach of a storm. If our customers choose to remove their boat from the marina they must request launch as soon as possible the first day. Within three hours+ we will be unable to launch boats due to the additional vessels stacked inside. We do not launch until we clear the building, usually the day after the storm passes, or when conditions allow.

What are the tides like in your area?

Our tidal fluctuations are fairly minimal. We normally fluctuate 1’-2’. Winter can see an extreme of 3’.
